Ancient Nabatean inscriptions
The most recent addition to the archive includes a collection of photographs of ancient rock inscriptions from the Eastern Sandstone Desert, Sinai, Egypt, including the Nabatean Rock of Inscriptions and inscriptions in Wadi Maktab. These link with other inscriptions, such as more recent rock graffiti and gravestone inscriptions, and touch upon the subjects of identity, pilgrimage and death. More inscriptions from Lapland and South Africa, will be added in the future.
